Terms of Use
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) are a legal agreement between you and Gold Life LLC, a Florida limited liability company (“Gold Life,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), governing your use of the My Money iOS app and its content and services (the “App”). By downloading or using the App, you agree to these Terms and to the Apple App Store Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the “Apple Standard EULA”). If you do not agree, do not use the App.
1. Who can use the App
You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live. The App is for your own personal use, to view and organize your own financial accounts. Using it with your own data requires a Gold Life ID account, created with Sign in with Apple, Sign in with Google, or your email address. You are responsible for the accounts you connect, for keeping your device, passcode, and any Apple or Google account secure, and for keeping access to the email address and any phone number on your account.
2. License
Subject to these Terms and the Apple Standard EULA, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App on any Apple-branded device that you own or control, as permitted by the Usage Rules set out in the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions (including any use by other accounts associated with you through Family Sharing). You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the App, and you may not reverse-engineer or attempt to extract the source code of the App, except to the extent this restriction is prohibited by applicable law.
3. Your Gold Life ID account
To use the App with your own financial data, you create an account — your Gold Life ID — an eight-digit number that never changes. You can reach it three ways, all of them the same account: Sign in with Apple, Sign in with Google, or your Gold Life ID (that number, or any email on the account) plus a six-digit one-time code sent to a contact you control — or Face ID once you have turned it on. There is no password at any point, and none is stored. Your account always keeps at least one confirmed email address, which can always receive a code — that is what makes it impossible to lock yourself out. The sign-in is operated for us by Stytch Inc., which never receives your bank data.
- Your account is yours alone. It is for your own use. Do not share it or let anyone else sign in as you, and tell us promptly if you believe someone has gained access to it. You are responsible for what happens under your account. If you want someone else to see your accounts, invite them through Sharing instead of giving them your sign-in.
- Letting someone else see your accounts. In the menu, under Sharing, you can invite another person — by the eight-digit Gold Life ID on their own card — to read your balances, transactions, categories, and detected recurring charges. They cannot move money, change anything, connect or disconnect a bank, or invite anyone else. Either of you can end it at any time. How many people you may invite depends on your plan; if your plan changes, shares beyond what it covers stop reading until you upgrade again, and are not deleted. If your subscription ends, everyone you invited stops reading for as long as it stays ended — your accounts are not something we keep showing other people once you are no longer paying — and they can read again the moment you subscribe again. You are responsible for who you invite, and for checking the number before you send an invitation — we never confirm whether a Gold Life ID belongs to a real account, so an invitation sent to a mistyped number simply sits unaccepted until you withdraw it.
- One ID across Gold Life apps. The same Gold Life ID signs you in to every Gold Life app. Deleting it ends your access to all of them, and it cannot be deleted while another Gold Life app still holds records for you — see section 6.
- Signing out. You can sign out at any time from the bottom of the menu. Your data stays in your account, and signing back in restores your access to it.
- Deleting your account. You can permanently delete your data and your account from inside the App, at any time, from that same Gold Life ID card. It takes two steps — this App’s data first, then the Gold Life ID — and both are immediate and cannot be undone. See section 6.
- Trying the App without an account. The App includes an Explore with sample data mode that shows made-up example data. It connects to no bank and sends none of your information anywhere; our Privacy Policy explains the one piece of network traffic that still happens on every launch, which is the sign-in system starting up. Sample data is for demonstration only, and the figures in it are not real and are not yours.
- Our right to end access. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these Terms or is used unlawfully.
4. Subscription and pricing
- What it costs. My Money is a subscription, offered in more than one plan. The entry plan is $9.99 per month or $99 per year in the United States; the larger plans cost more. There is no free trial. Prices may differ by region and may change over time; the plans, and the price you will pay, are always shown in the App before you buy.
- What is free. Explore with sample data is free. It needs no account, no bank, and no subscription.
- What the subscription is for. A subscription lets you connect a real bank. The plans differ in how many banks you may connect, how many people you may invite to read your accounts, how many live balance refreshes you get each month, and whether you can export your transactions as a CSV file. If your subscription ends, everything you already have stays and stays readable — but the App stops working on your behalf until you subscribe again. Section 4A says exactly what that means.
- Apple bills you, not us. You buy the subscription through the App Store, and Apple charges your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase. Gold Life never sees your card number, and the payment is covered by Apple’s terms.
- It renews on its own. Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period — monthly or yearly, whichever you chose — at the same price. Apple charges you within 24 hours before the current period ends. To stop the next charge, turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the current period ends.
- Cancelling and refunds go through Apple. Open Settings on your iPhone, tap your name at the top to open your Apple Account, then tap Subscriptions and pick My Money. That is where you cancel. Refunds are Apple’s to give, and you ask for one at reportaproblem.apple.com. We cannot cancel your subscription or refund you ourselves — we have no access to your payment. Cancelling stops the next charge, and the month you already paid for runs to its end.
4A. If your subscription ends
Your subscription can end because you cancelled it, because a payment failed, or because you let it lapse. Whichever it is, we would rather you read this here than discover it in the App, because it takes back things you had while you were paying.
While your subscription is ended, My Money becomes read-only. Sign in and everything is still there — your connected banks, your accounts, every transaction, every category, nickname, and rule you set. You can open the App and read all of it. What stops is the App doing anything with it.
- Syncing stops completely. Not just new banks — all of it. We do not ask Plaid for anything while you are not paying, so no new transactions arrive, no balance is refreshed, and pull-to-refresh brings nothing back. What you see is your data frozen at its last sync before the subscription ended. It is still accurate as of that moment, and it will not move again until you subscribe.
- You cannot connect a new bank, and you cannot re-link one that breaks.
- Nothing is written. No new categories, nicknames, rules, or labels, and no changes to the ones you have.
- No export. Export All Transactions and Export as CSV do not run while your subscription is ended. Export while you are still subscribed if there is anything you will need elsewhere.
- People you invited stop reading. Anyone you shared your accounts with loses access for as long as your subscription stays ended, and gets it back the moment you subscribe again. Their access is not deleted, only switched off — but while you are not paying, nobody else is looking at your balances.
- Deleting always works.Erasing My Money’s data and deleting your Gold Life ID stay available whatever your subscription is doing. Apple requires that, and we agree with it. Disconnecting a bank is part of erasing My Money’s data, so your bank connections never outlive your ability to end them.
- Subscribing again gives everything back at once. Nothing is deleted, trimmed, or downgraded while you are ended. The next sync fills in what your bank did while you were away, and every feature is exactly where you left it.
- You can still ask us in writing. Turning a button off in the App does not end our duty to answer you. Write to adrian@softwarebygl.com from an email address on your Gold Life ID, ask for a copy of what we hold for you, and we will send it — subscribed or not, at no charge.
5. Bank connections (Plaid)
The App lets you connect your own bank, credit-card, and other financial accounts through Plaid Inc.(“Plaid”) so you can view your balances and transactions. This connection is read-only.
- Plaid handles your bank login. You enter your bank credentials in Plaid’s own secure interface. The App and Gold Life never see, receive, or store your bank username, password, or security answers; Plaid holds those credentials under your agreement with Plaid and Plaid’s terms and privacy policy.
- Read-only access. The App can only view account balances and transactions. It can never move, send, transfer, or withdraw money, make a payment, or change anything at your bank.
- What we store. Our own service (a Cloudflare Worker with a D1 database operated by Gold Life) stores a read-only copy of the account and transaction data that Plaid returns so the App can display it to you: your balances, your transactions, and the categories and labels you apply. The App shows only the last four digits of an account number. We never sell this data or use it for advertising. See our Privacy Policy for the full picture.
- Availability.Bank connections depend on Plaid supporting your institution and on Plaid’s continued service; a connection may be unavailable, break, or need to be re-linked, and the data may be delayed, incomplete, or inaccurate. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Gold Life is not liable for Plaid’s acts or omissions, for outages, or for any error, delay, or gap in the data provided by Plaid or your financial institution.
- Disconnecting. While you are subscribed you can disconnect any bank in the menu, under Connected Banks. When you do, we revoke the connection at Plaid and remove that bank’s stored account and transaction data from our service. Your money at the bank is untouched. If your subscription has ended, that button is read-only along with the rest of the App (section 4A) — deleting My Money’s data from your Gold Life ID card still works and disconnects every bank at once, so you are never stuck with a connection you cannot end.
6. Your data and deleting it
Your connected-account and transaction data is stored by Gold Life on our own service (a Cloudflare Worker and D1 database), along with the details on your Gold Life ID card — your name, photo, and any phone number or address you add — as described in our Privacy Policy. You are responsible for keeping your Apple device, passcode, and Apple ID secure.
You can delete your data yourself, at any time, from inside the App, and it happens in two steps, in this order. Open the menu, tap the gold Gold Life ID button at the top to open your card, then tap Delete Gold Life ID. That opens a screen headed Your Gold Life apps, which lists every Gold Life app you have used and what each still holds for you.
- Step one — this App’s data. Delete on the My Money row disconnects every bank at Plaid and permanently removes your accounts, transactions, categories, rules, and the access you had shared with other people. Your Gold Life ID, your sign-in methods, and the details on your ID card are not touched by this step.
- Step two — the Gold Life ID. Delete my Gold Life ID permanently removes the Gold Life ID itself, the ways you sign in to it, the profile details on your card, and any access other people had given you. It is unavailable until every app on that list is empty, and we refuse the request even if it is attempted another way: records left behind with no one able to sign in and reach them could never be removed by anyone. If we cannot reach an app to check what it holds, we also refuse, and you can try again.
- Confirming. Both steps require you to type your own eight-digit Gold Life ID, which the App shows you in the confirmation. Deleting the Gold Life ID additionally requires Face ID, Touch ID, or your device passcode.
- Other Gold Life apps.My Money can show you what another Gold Life app still holds, but it cannot delete another app’s data. Open that app, delete your data there, then come back.
Both steps take effect immediately: there is no review, no waiting period, no recovery window, and no way to undo either one. A copy may persist in an encrypted backup for up to 30 days before it ages out. You can also disconnect a single bank instead, which removes only that bank’s data. Deleting removes your data from My Money and changes nothing at your bank. Signing in after deleting your Gold Life ID creates a new, empty account. If you prefer, you can email adrian@softwarebygl.com and we will do it for you. The copy of your profile held on the device is removed when you delete the App.
7. The App is a tool, not professional advice
Important. The App shows you balances, transactions, spending by category, net worth, and related figures — and helps you separate personal, business, and investment spending — based on information from your connected accounts and information you enter. It is an informational and organizational tool only. It does not provide financial, investment, accounting, tax, or legal advice, and nothing in it is a recommendation to buy, sell, or hold any asset. Balances and transactions come from your bank through Plaid and may be delayed, incomplete, or inaccurate — your financial institution’s own records are the authoritative source. You are solely responsible for reviewing and verifying every figure and category the App shows, and you should confirm important amounts directly with your bank before relying on them. Consult a qualified professional before making any financial, tax, or legal decision.
8. Acceptable use
You agree to use the App lawfully, and not to use it to violate any law or anyone’s rights, to infringe intellectual property, or to interfere with, disrupt, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the App or any related systems.
9. Intellectual property
The App and its design and logos, and the names “My Money,” “Evolved by GL,” and “Gold Life,” are owned by Gold Life LLC and protected by U.S. and international law. These Terms grant you no right to use our trademarks. The financial data and content you connect or enter remain yours.
10. Disclaimers
THE APP IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, GOLD LIFE DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that any balance, transaction, category, or figure it shows is accurate, current, or complete. You use the App at your own risk.
11. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, GOLD LIFE LLC AND ITS OWNERS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES — INCLUDING LOST PROFITS, LOST DATA, OR ANY FINANCIAL LOSS — ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE APP. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE APP THROUGH APPLE IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, OR (B) ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS ($100). Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so these may not fully apply to you.
12. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Gold Life LLC from any claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from your use of the App, your violation of these Terms or any law, or the accounts and data you connect or create with the App.
13. Apple-specific terms
These Terms are between you and Gold Life LLC only, and not with Apple Inc. (“Apple”). The following apply to your use of the App obtained through the Apple App Store:
- Apple is not responsible for the App or its content. Gold Life LLC — not Apple — is solely responsible for providing any maintenance and support for the App, and Apple has no obligation to do so. Direct any questions, support requests, or complaints about the App to us at adrian@softwarebygl.com.
- In the event of any failure of the App to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple may refund any purchase price you paid for the App; to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to the App.
- Apple is not responsible for addressing any claims relating to the App, including product-liability claims, claims that the App fails to conform to any legal or regulatory requirement, claims under consumer-protection or similar law, and claims that the App infringes a third party’s intellectual-property rights. If any third party claims that the App infringes its intellectual-property rights, Gold Life LLC — not Apple — will be solely responsible for the investigation, defense, settlement, and discharge of that claim.
- You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated as a “terrorist-supporting” country, and that you are not listed on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- Apple and Apple’s subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and, upon your acceptance, will have the right to enforce these Terms against you.
14. Termination
Your license ends automatically if you breach these Terms. You may stop using the App at any time. Letting your subscription end is not a termination and deletes nothing — your data stays with us and stays readable, under the read-only rule in section 4A, until you subscribe again or delete it yourself. Sections that by their nature should survive termination — including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, and governing law — will survive.
15. Governing law and dispute resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Before filing any claim, you agree to first contact us at adrian@softwarebygl.com and try to resolve the dispute informally for at least 30 days. If it is not resolved, you and Gold Life agree to resolve any claim through final and binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, held in Leon County, Florida or conducted remotely. Either party may still bring a qualifying claim in small-claims court or seek injunctive relief to protect intellectual-property rights. You and Gold Life agree that each may bring claims only in an individual capacity, and not as a plaintiff or class member in any class or representative action. You may opt out of this arbitration agreement by sending written notice to the email above within 30 days of first accepting these Terms.
16. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date above will reflect any change, and for material changes we will provide reasonable notice. Your continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
17. General
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and Gold Life LLC regarding the App and supersede any prior agreements. If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it. You may not assign these Terms; we may.
